

Germany will buy up to 60 Chinook helicopters, worth close to £3.5billion, in order to strengthen its military in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht said a stronger defensive capability would “[strengthen] our ability to cooperate in Europe”.
The Boeing helicopters will replace the country’s ageing CH-53 fleet.
A German defence chief said a crucial argument for the Chinook was its global use.
