The Beatles final live rooftop performance beautifully remastered for release this week | Music | Entertainment

When Then Beatles gave their iconic rooftop performance, the band hadn’t performed live together in three years. Taking place on January 30, 1969, the legendary show would also be their last as a band. Nevertheless, it was filmed as part of the Let It Be sessions recording and was beautifully restored in the final part of Peter Jackson’s The Beatles: Get Back miniseries on Disney+.

Today it was announced that the complete, newly mixed audio with debut globally on streaming this Friday from 5am GMT, ahead of the 53rd anniversary of The Beatles’ final live performance on Sunday.

This marks the first time the live music from John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr’s concert has been mixed in stereo and Dolby Atmos, overseen by Giles Martin and Sam Okell.

As part of the celebration, tomorrow sees Norah Jones release two rooftop tribute performance videos of songs from the Let It Be album.

Covers of I’ve Got a Feeling and Let It Be from the top of the Empire State Building will debut on her YouTube channel from 5pm GMT tomorrow.
