Team RRR Gets Big Love From Mammootty, Samantha Ruth Prabhu And Other South Stars

RRR fans couldn’t have asked for a better start to 2023. The SS Rajamouli film has created history by winning an award in the Best Original Song category at Golden Globes forNaatu Naatu. It is the first Asian song to win the honour and celebrities from the south Indian film industries have joined fans to mark the victory of the magnum opus on the world stage. Malayalam star Mammootty celebrated the win by sharing a special image of Ram Charan, Jr NTR, SS Rajamouli and MM Keeravani at the awards ceremony. The veteran actor said, “Delighted to see the world stand up for an Indian Cinema. Congrats MM Keeravani, SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR, Ram Charan and the entire team of #RRRMovie for bagging the #GoldenGlobes2023 for the best original song. #NaatuNaatu @RRRMovie.”

Kamal Haasan congratulated the team in a tweet originally shared in Tamil. It read, “India continues to gain popularity. MM Keeravani won the #GoldenGlobes award for the song #NaatuNaatu from the film RRR directed by SS Rajamouli. This song has already crossed 11 crore views on YouTube. Congratulations.”

Superstar Mohanlal said, “#NaatuNaatu deserves the spotlight to celebrate this well-deserved success and a historic milestone.”

“Incredible ..Paradigm shift. Congrats Keeravani Garu from all Indians and your fans! Congrats SS Rajamouli Garu and the whole RRR team,” gushed AR Rahman, who had won the Golden Globe in the same Best Score category for the 2009 film Slumdog Millionaire

That’s not all. Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who is RRR’s lead actor Ram Charan’s father, wrote, “What a Phenomenal, Historic  Achievement. Golden Globes Best Original Song – Motion Picture Award to MM Keeravani garu. Take a Bow. Heartiest Congratulations Team”.

 He tagged director SS Rajamouli and added, “India is proud of you,” with the hashtag Naatu Naatu.

In a separate tweet, Chiranjeevi said, “#NaatuNaatu is all about the celebration of music and dance. India and the World are dancing with you today!! Kudos  Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Chandrabose for the fabulous lyrics! Kaala Bhairava, Rahul Sipligunj. Danayya garu  @DVVMovies.”

Prabhas, who headlined SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise, also congratulated the team and said, “Delighted to know that #NaatuNaatu is the first ever Asian Song to bag a #GoldenGlobes Award…Congratulations #MMKeeravani Garu and team RRR on creating histoRRRy yet again! You’ve shown the world the power and magic of Indian Cinema.”

Mahesh Babu described the win as a “dream come true”. “Watching the world cheer for an Indian film is a dream come true!! This year couldn’t have started on a better note! Congratulations  MM Keeravani garu,  SS Rajamouli sir,  Jr NTR,  Ram Charan and the entire team of #RRR… Many more to come,” he wrote on Twitter.

Allu Arjun posted an image of MM Keeravani on the Golden Globes’ stage winning the award and said: “BIG BIG BIGGG CONGRATULATIONS! Prideful Moment.”

KGF star Yash also shared a photo from the event and said, “The joy of witnessing stellar music from Indian cinema resonating across the world! #MMKeeravaani sir watching you hold that trophy is a proud moment SS Rajamouli sir onwards to the Oscars. Congrats to my brothers Ram Charan,  Jr NTR your dance moves made waves globally.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu had only words of praise for music composer MM Keeravani and wrote, “What an incredible achievement. We are the happiest and proudest today to see the whole world celebrate your music, sir! Congratulations from the bottom of my heart! MM Keeravani. Congratulations to the entire team#RRRMovie #goldenglobes2023.”

Filmmaker-actor Prabhudeva reposted a video of the winning moment shared by the official Instagram page of RRR and said: “Wow superb,” with heart emojis. 

In addition to the Golden Globes, RRR has submitted itself for consideration in various Oscar categories. The film also features Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in important roles.
