The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) will offer two more grants to eligible self-employed claimants this year. The fourth SEISS grant will be worth 80 percent of average monthly trading profits, capped at £7,500 in total for the three-month period. After almost a year of restrictions, the fourth SEISS grant will prove crucial to helping businesses stay afloat over the next stage of lockdown.
When will the online gateway open for the fourth self-employed grant?
For the previous Self-Employment Income Support Scheme grants, applicants have been able to file their claims via the Government website.
The portal closed to applications for SEISS grant three on January 29, 2021.
While the portal is currently closed, it is expected to open from late April until the end of May 2021 for SEISS grant four.
People who are eligible for SEISS will be contacted in mid-April with a personal claim date to apply from.
Will there be a fifth SEISS grant?
The Chancellor announced in the March Budget announcement there will be a fifth SEISS grant later this year.
The grant will cover May to September and will be worth a percentage of a claimant’s average monthly trading profits.
People who have seen a decrease in turnover of 30 percent or above will be entitled to 80 percent of three months’ average trading profits, capped at £7,500.
