Nato Summit LIVE: ‘Tighten vice’ Boris issues warning to Scholz & EU as China under fire | World | News

n a press conference ahead of today’s NATO summit in Brussels, Jens Stoltenberg had strong words for both Putin and China.

He stated that China “has provided political support” to Russia, including “by spreading blatant lies and disinformation.”

He added that he expected NATO leaders to today condemn China’s actions thus far, and to call on President Xi to condemn the war – which they have yet to do.

Mr Stoltenberg also had strong words to say on Russia’s “nuclear sabre-rattling” in response to a question from the audience.

He said: “we convey a very clear message to Russia that a nuclear war cannot be won and should never be fought.

“Any use of nuclear weapons will fundamentally change the nature of the conflict.

“[Russia’s] nuclear rhetoric, is actually contradicting what they have stated in the UN and in other formats, agreeing that we should do whatever we can to prevent a nuclear conflict.”
