Kate Middleton: Duchess’ style more ‘sophisticated’ since becoming a royal

The Duchess of Cambridge often wears a mixture of high-street labels as well as designer. While the royal mainly wears new clothing pieces, she will also rewear many of her items again and again. An expert has shared how her style has become more “sophisticated” since becoming a Duchess.

The Duchess stuns even more when she is channelling Princess Diana or paying homage to her through her signature styles.

“Adopting to the same hues, details and silhouettes.”

Kate will often keep her more formal dresses for special occasions and will regularly wear casual clothing when she is seen out day-to-day.

Lucy went on: “We love when Kate dresses down in casual wear from jeans, sneakers, sweaters and t-shirts.

Lucy added: “We still get to see elements of her previous style – but a more polished version, which we love to see and look forward to seeing more.”

As well as channelling high-street brands, the royal will also often add affordable pieces of jewellery to her looks.

According to one expert, this is to make her appear more “relatable”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Nick Withington, Managing Director of jeweller William May, said: “Kate uses British based designers and affordable high street brands, both contemporary brands like Monica Vinader as well as high street labels such as Accessorize.

“Kate regularly wears affordable statement earrings and surprisingly many are under £150.”

Not only is Kate seen wearing her affordable pieces once, she will often rewear them several times and many pieces have been in her collection for years.

The expert added: “He added: “This makes her more relatable to the British public as she isn’t afraid to repeat her accessories, which are also obtainable pieces.

“The Kate effect can cause items to sell out almost immediately for many retailers.”
