Joe Biden slammed over US failings ‘on-track to be one-term President’ | World | News

Joe Biden recently addressed the rising cost of consumer prices in the US during a CNN presidential town hall on Wednesday night. Inflation has risen in the US as the country looks to steer a way out of the economic downturn caused by the Covid pandemic. Critics of the Biden administration have listed high inflations rates, alongside a spike in crime levels and failure to secure the US’s southern border as reasons why the President will not be voted in for a second term.

Former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy told Fox News: “Yeah when [Biden] said ‘you understand what I’m saying’ actually I have no idea what he was saying.

“It sounded to be that prices were going up because we are paying people to stay home which is also his fault.

“We have got high crime, high inflation, and a porous border.

“That is a recipe to be a one-term president.”

The same CNN townhall event in Cincinnati saw the US leader appeared to make an erroneous claim about the effectiveness of Covid vaccines.

President Biden said: “We’re not in the position where we think that any virus, including the Delta virus, which is much more transmissible and more deadly in terms of unvaccinated people, the – the various shots that people are getting now cover that.

“You’re OK, you’re not going to – you’re not going to get Covid if you have these vaccinations.

“If you’re vaccinated, you’re not going to be hospitalized, you’re not going to be in the IC unit, and you’re not going to die.

“So it’s gigantically important that we all act like Americans who care about our fellow Americans.”

Covid jabs do boost a recipient’s chance of not catching the virus but do not offer 100 percent protection from infection.

“And I’ve heard you speak about it because you always – I’m not being solicitous – but you’re always straight up about what you’re doing.

“The question is whether or not we should be in a position where you uh, um, are – why can’t the experts say we know that this virus is, in fact, uh, um, uh, it’s going to be – or, excuse me, we, we, we know why all the drugs approved are not temporarily approved by permanently approved.

“That’s underway too. I expect that to occur quickly.”

The 78-year-old Democrat has previously suggested he will run for re-election in 2024.
