Elvis: Priscilla Presley announces 2023 UK tour with unseen personal footage of The King | Music | Entertainment

Priscilla Presley first met Elvis Presley in the late 1950s when she was just 14-year-old schoolgirl and has spent much of her life sharing memories of their relationship. The King was in Germany doing his army service when he fell for the girl who one day would be his wife. The couple were later married from 1967-73 and had the star’s only child together, Lisa Marie Presley, who was born 9 months to the day after their Las Vegas wedding.

Although the couple separated in 1972, they continued to stay close and following Elvis’ death at just 42 five years later, Priscilla helped oversee his estate since their daughter was just nine at the time. In 1982, the family home Graceland was saved by opening as a museum to fans.

Following the success of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic earlier this year, The King’s former spouse has now announced a special UK tour. This follows on from the Elvis in Concert – Live On-Screen tour she helped host before the pandemic.

Earlier this summer, Priscilla announced an audiobook of her autobiography Elvis and Me, which is being adapted into a movie by Sofia Coppola.

Elvis’ ex-wife wrote on social media: “Just letting you know that my memoir ELVIS AND ME releases today in audio and e-book for the first time. The audiobook is narrated by me, and I hope you will enjoy listening to my story of life and love with Elvis.”
