Donald Trump’s ‘seven-step Diet Coke request’ included opening it ‘in front of his eyes’ | World | News

In a revealing article in Washingtonian magazine, ex-employees of the Trump hotel disclosed what happened when the former US President dined at their restaurant. The Trump International Hotel is around five blocks away from the White House.

According to the report, Mr Trump always sat at Table 72 which was a round booth in the middle of the hotel’s mezzanine.

The article said: “No one sat at Trump’s table except the President, his children, and, occasionally, an approved member of his inner circle like Rudy Giuliani or Mike Pence.”

The Washingtonian also obtained a “Standard Operating Procedure” document which outlined step by step what staff should do when Mr Trump dined at the hotel’s restaurant BLT Prime.

The report claimed Mr Trump needed to be presented with a mini bottle of Purell hand sanitizer as soon as he was seated, noting “even pre-Covid…Trump is a known germaphobe.”

Seven steps were reportedly given on how to pour the soda alongside four photos to illustrate the actions.

The article read: “The beverage had to be opened in front of the germophobe commander in chief, ‘never beforehand’.

“The server was to hold a longneck-bottle opener by the lower third of the handle in one hand and the Diet Coke, also by the lower third, in the other.

“Once poured, the drink had to be placed at the President’s right-hand side. ‘Repeat until POTUS departs’.”

At the time Mr Dunn tweeted: “President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button. When @ShippersUnbound and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did.

“Eventually Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It’s gone now.”

According to the Washingtonian article, Melania Trump also has her own food preferences.

The report claimed the former First Lady once sent back a Dover sole because it was dressed with parsley and chives.

Mrs Trump recently hit out at the media’s “unhealthy obsession” with her after a CNN report claimed the former First Lady has been spending much of her post-White House time in day spas.

The Office of Melania Trump tweeted in response to the report: “Mrs Trump is no longer First Lady. She is a private citizen, mother, & wife.

“Sources in this article are not affiliated [with] her nor have insight into her thoughts or daily life.

“CNN’s FLOTUS Correspondent choosing to publish false gossip illustrates the media’s unhealthy obsession.”
